Bright Futures is not just for health professionals – it is also useful for families and all who are concerned with promoting and protecting children's health. Partnership is a core concept of Bright Futures, a partnership that includes families, communities, health care providers, and public health officials from the federal government to the community level. Bright Futures materials for families are available on a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional health issues for children from the prenatal months through age 21. And health professionals have found that providing Bright Futures materials promotes positive interaction with the families whose children are in their care. Healthy Futures Virginia AAP’s Bright Futures Education Center partnered with the Virginia Department of Health to develop a series of 1 to 2 minute videos covering a wide range of topics for parents from the newborn visit up to the 4-year visit.
